1890 photo of the Old Mysore Palace:
This palace was destroyed in a fire in 1897. The fire could not be controlled because Wood was the main material used in the Old Palace due to which fire spread rapidly and brought the whole palace down in no time.
After the destruction, the King of Mysore commissioned a British architect, Henry Irwin to build another palace in its place and it was completed in 1912 at a cost of Rs 41 lakh. It is the new palace which now stands as the Symbol of Mysore and is a treat to watch...................

Where two oceans meet... but do not mix! INCREDIBLE AND SIMPLY MIND-BLOWING!!!
These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix. Photograph by Kent Smith.

Moonlight Rainbow Fountain in Seoul, South Korea
The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain is the world’s longest bridge fountain with nearly 10,000 LED nozzles that run along both sides that is 1,140m long, shooting out 190 tons of water per minute.
Installed in September 2009 on the Banpo Bridge, it showcases Seoul’s eco-friendliness, as the water is pumped directly from the river itself and continuously recycled. The bridge has 38 water pumps and 380 nozzles on either side, which draw 190 tons of water per minute from the river 20 meters below the deck, and shoot as far as 43 meters horizontally.

“Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself. They come through you, but not from you. Though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. You may house their bodies, but not their souls. You may strive to be like them but seek not to make them like you.”
Facial massage focuses on muscle properties, while facial acupressure addresses many levels, including toning muscles, energy balance and flow, specific point remedies, general wellness, skin tone and circulation. Many meridians and reflex zones run through the face so when you affect points on the face, you are affecting deeper layers of greater complexity.
Acupressure can be used to correct the internal imbalances that create the face’s wrinkles, sagging, discoloration, dark circles, or “bags” under the eyes.

The Amazing Monkey Orchid
orchids come from the south-eastern Ecuadorian and Peruvian cloud forests
Its scientific name is Dracula simia, the last part nodding towards the fact that this remarkable orchid bears more than a passing resemblance to a monkey’s face although we won’t go as far as to be species specific on this one.

Name
There are many theories about the origin of the name Kurnool.
According to A Manual of the Kurnool District in the Presidency of Madras, (Narahari Gopalakristnamah Chetty, 1886), the name Kurnool is derived from Kandenavolu or Kandanavolu (a Telugu name by which it is referred to in the inscriptions and literature of the past), pronounced as karnooluu. According to the legend, in the time of the Western Chalukyas of Badami in the 11th century AD, the Vadderas who carted stones for the construction of the temples at Alampur (also known as Dakshina Kasi in Mahaboobnagar District), used the site on which the city now stands as a resting place before crossing the Tungabhadra. Here, they greased their cart-wheels with oil, which was supplied by some of the local oil mongers. They called the place Kandenametta.
